HOUSING PROGRAM
The Housing Program was the very first initiative launched by Hermanos de la Calle — and it remains at the heart of our mission today. What began as a simple effort to offer stability and dignity to those in need has grown into a network of 25 shared homes across Miami-Dade County, providing safe, long-term housing for men and women transitioning out of homelessness.
Some of our homes operate as recovery residences, supporting individuals committed to sobriety and personal growth. Each home offers a structured yet compassionate environment where residents can rebuild their lives with dignity and purpose.
Here’s how it works:
-
We provide fully managed homes, covering utilities and basic setup for the first month.
-
Residents then transition into independent living, sharing homes with others in similar circumstances and fostering a sense of community and mutual support.
-
Our team assists with job searches, benefits navigation, and case management to help residents secure stable income and maintain their housing.
-
Residents self-manage their homes — taking responsibility for cleaning, cooperation, and daily living — preparing them for full independence.
This program embodies our belief that stability, structure, and community are the foundation for lasting change. For many, it’s not just housing — it’s the first real step toward rebuilding their future.
